Peace of mind comes when you know your service provider will not vanish overnight. We have been in business for years. Your sod installation service does not end after the sods are laid. Our crews will be provided with a route to monitor your newly laid sods periodically. We will let you know if you need to hand water a specific area more thoroughly or temporarily stop watering altogether at no additional cost. We just want to do the right thing to all our clients. We will even give you a FREE soil fertility test a couple of months after installation. This will help ensure optimum nutrient level and pH range to encourage sod germination. When the sods have fully taken, should you need our expertise, we can help you protect your investment over the longer term.
The first order of business for any sod installation service is to perform a proper soil test. We use both zone sampling and field sampling methods depending on the specific issue. The sampling method will confirm the fertility of the existing soil, and in cases where grass had already receded will aid in the proper diagnosis of the root cause of the problem. Is the problem lack of major movable nutrients, cations, excessive metals, too much shade, compacted soil, lack of watering, fungal growth, herbicide use, or a number of other factors that we as professionals must physically inspect on site? A successful sod installation involves more than just laying a piece of sod on top of a patch of dirt. Our proprietary process has been perfected throughout the years, which is very important especially when your time and money are at stake. We work to ensure your existing soil can be properly prepared in order to propagate new sods over the long term.
Our sod installation service finds the root cause of the problem. In the case of the photos below, it turns out that the local Fulmore Middle School has been replacing sods almost every year for the past 3 years because of underlying soil problems. One of the main culprit that kept killing off the new sods is the lack of calcium which produces excessive magnesium resulting in excessive sodium. This shows how the lack of calcium creates a chain of events that ultimately killed new sods after new sods. We counter this finding by adding calcium sulfate, also known as gypsum, and then organic fertilizer and peat moss for varied organic matter. We also aerated and sprayed with compost tea to alleviate soil compaction and increase aerobic microbial count.
We do not just do things because the big box store said so. Our actions are based on findings from our soil test. We take this very seriously.
Included are labor for site preparation, purchase and safe delivery of materials, labor for installation, and labor for after-service monitoring.
So long as you have a working irrigation system, we guarantee the sods we install will take and not die within 90 days. We have been doing this for years and on every single sod installation service we do.
We will replace the dead sods with new ones. If they still die, we will hire a competitor of your choice up to the full amount of your invoice to replace the dead sods.
If you want us to weed, aerate, fertilize, or mow your newly laid sod as well, we can provide you with a detailed line item estimate.
