The Organic Lawn Care Service That Works! No synthetic herbicide. No nitrates to weed and feed. We disagree with the big chemical industry. Our real world results show that lawns do propagate quite well with organic lawn fertilization methods, and the smart use of natural techniques to control unwanted vegetation over the long-term. This isn't a totally unique approach to lawn care. It is just one that unfortunately has been forgotten. Austinites used to do it like this 2 generations ago. This is the reason why we exist. We offer an organic lawn care service alternative which puts at a minimum fertilizer runoffs that pollutes our rivers, producing toxic algal blooms, and eliminates the need to ever apply herbicides and other environmentally harmful synthetic chemicals while at the same time giving you a lawn that you and everybody else would be proud of. Organic Lawn Fertilization (Organic Fertilizer FAQ) gives the extra bump to an already exceptional organic lawn care service. We can make your lawn beautiful, just as you dreamed it be. Our organic fertilization program uses natural and organic fertilizers to ensure deep and strong root growth that lasts. You will not see us spreading synthetic fertilizers all over the place. We want earthworms to propagate because the lawn needs their castings. Your lawn will be fertilized at the beginning of the year in once in every month of March, May, July, September, and November using time released organic fertilizers. Do not worry. We are aware that over-fertilization is a problem. After the initial fertilization, we actively monitor your lawn and will automatically adjust the amount of organic fertilizer use depending on the lawn needs. This ensures we limit fertilizer runoff and eliminate waste by only doing services your lawn truly needs. On every fertilization service, we recommend that our professionally brewed actively aerated compost tea (AACT) accompany it. AACT adds beneficial microbes, bacteria, and nematodes to encourage breakdown of organic matter like thatch and leaves, and a deeper root growth. Each AACT batch is checked with a microscope up to 1200x magnification before application. Should the lawn ever need more organic material midway into the year, we will let you know and make the necessary adjustments using peat moss, coco fibers, sphagnum, organic compost, dressings, compost tea, and more. The follow-ups ensure deeper and stronger root growth to lessen the chances of weed infestation. We check the soil integrity, the overall topography, and use modern cutting edge science to give your lawn the nourishment it needs. We love doing what we do if you have not noticed.
Actively Aerated Compost TeaOur organic fertilization process is truly unique in the industry. When everybody else uses whatever the chemical companies recommend, our approach is based from research about organic products that we have scoured all over the world. Yes, we travel to other countries in search for the best organic practices not found anywhere else in Austin, Texas. Our method uses natural and organic fertilizers that are known to break down very slowly, totally avoiding lawn or plant burning and minimizing over-fertilization and nutrient runoffs to our local river and waterways. Our professionally brewed actively aerated compost tea (AACT) replaces bulky compost and is more efficient in spreading nutrients and beneficial microbes - mobile and non-mobile bacteria, archaeas, nematodes, protozoas, ciliates, flagellates, testates, fungal hypheas, rotifers, among others - to encourage further breakdown of organic matter, like leaves, mulch, and grass clippings. This virtually eliminates the need for mechanical dethatching as the soil infused AACT can naturally break down thick thatch layers within weeks. Each AACT batch is checked with a microscope up to 1200x magnification to confirm the general types of nematodes present, the proper ratio for mobile against non-mobile bacteria, the approximate number of flagellates per slide, and the general microbial structures before delivery. Because AACT is in liquid form, it is immediately absorbed by the grass blades, plant leaves, and roots.

Best of all, our organic fertilizers and compost tea are pet friendly, human friendly, and environmentally friendly. We refuse to use potentially harmful chemicals. This is the hard change we desperately yearn to see in the world. And because we are a 100% chemical-free company, there is absolutely no chance for mix ups when servicing your lawn. There is zero chance of mixing chemical herbicides and AACT because we absolutely do not use herbicides. And because active microbial count is extremely difficult to maintain in dehydrated form, AACT can not be mass produced. As of 2021, actively aerated compost tea can only be effectively made in relatively small batches. This is in fact what we do. We brew in small batches to give you the highest quality compost tea money can buy in Austin, Texas.
Seeding the lawn helps the grass get traction to grow, lessens bare spots where weeds could grow, and cultivates the existing soil in preparation for the perennial grass to regrow in Spring. As you can see with our unedited comparison photos above, this can make a world of a difference in the appearance of your lawn especially during the colder months, where most of our southern grasses in Austin go dormant. In permaculture, spreading fast growing annual grasses over slow growing perennial grasses is called "Nursing". We use a nursing plant, which in this case is grass, to help in lawn repair and grass germination. There are many types of grass seeds to choose from. So to ensure propagation of the new seeds, we prepare the lawn before seeding and pick the right type of seeds depending on the actual topography of your backyard. Lawns with lots of shade, for example, will not be ideal for Bermuda grass seeds. Bermuda grass seeds just have a lot of trouble growing under shade in the real world specifically here in South Austin. Of course, the Bermuda grass seed manufacturer would say otherwise. Our experience dictates using other annual grass seeds for part shade, full shade, and sunny lawns.
Lawn Core AerationStart the year in Spring right with our core aeration service. Core aeration helps your lawn by creating a system of non-capillary holes that makes the movement of water, air, and movable nutrients easier. This fast movement of specifically water and air is known to alleviate the effects of soil compaction. Core aeration involves the removal of soil plugs or cores out of the lawn. These cores are removed mechanically by an aerator to relieve soil compaction and break thatch. Think of it as a regular facial for your lawn. Aerating opens up the pores of your lawn to allow moisture to penetrate deeply, encouraging new growth, and a deeper and stronger root system, making the lawn more hardy during extreme weather conditions. The more we expand favorable areas for root growth, the more resilient the root system would be against pests, fungal growth, freeze, thaw, and drought. |
